Larix decidua 'Pendula'

Exciting, irregularly drooping branches, soft, fluffy tufts of green needles that become brilliant yellow in fall. A fine, hardy street tree or accent specimen near a stream or water garden. Has a weeping growth habit & garden size varies with culture, growing 12” to 15” a year.

Larix gmelinii ‘Romberg Park’

A superb dwarf, deciduous conifer that will develop tufts of short branches giving it appeal in all seasons. In early spring, it is one of the first to push growth, programmed from its cold native habitat and short growing season to take full advantage of warming temperatures. The softly textured, light green needles change to yellow in fall, and then drop to reveal the plant’s many short stems for winter interest. Plant in light, well-drained soil in a sunny garden. Has a globe shaped growth habit & reaches roughly 6’ tall by 6’ wide in size, growing 3” to 6” a year.

Larix kaempferi 'Diana'

Contorted branches make this smaller-growing larch a striking accent in the landscape. Soft, twirled blue-green needles turn golden yellow in the fall before dropping, leaving a bare, twisted corkscrew-like form. Makes a wonderful focal point as a single tree. Attractive when planted with dark green conifers and shrubs for color contrast. Has a narrow upright growth habit & reaches roughly 15’ to 20’ tall by 5’ to 7’ wide in size.

Larix kaempferi 'Wolterdingen'

This compact, spreading specimen provides exceptional seasonal interest for small landscapes and rock gardens. In early spring, soft, new, blue-green needles emerge and continue to decorate the delicate mound through the growing season. In fall, needles change to rich yellow before they fall to show off ornamental, reddish brown branches with scales reminiscent of an armadillo’s armor. Has a spreading growth habit & reaches roughly 4’ tall by 8’ wide in size, growing 3” to 6” a year.
