Microbiota decussata
Soft feathery scale-like foliage cover this low, spreading variety. The flattened sprays are a bright green in summer, turning a bronze-purple in fall through winter. Works well as a juniper substitute. Native to Russia, it is very hardy. Best in full sun but will tolerate partial shade. Requires very well-drained soil. Has a spreading growth habit & reaches roughly 2’ tall by 10’ wide in size, growing 6” to 8” a year.
