Thujopsis dolabrata 'Nana'
A bright, pale to yellowish green, fine-textured overlapping thick, scale-like foliage, marked with silver on the undersides. A deer-proof conifer that has a broad upright growth habit & reaches roughly 1’ tall by 3.5’ wide, growing 2” to 4” a year.
Thujopsis dolobrata ‘Var. Hondae’
Flattened fernlike branchlets are clad in shiny green, thick scale-like leaves, each of which has a curved shape like an antler and is marked with thick white stomatal bands on the reverse. The Hondae variety is native to the cool, moist forests of northern Japan and adapts to full sun or partially shaded sites. Shrubby when young, it will eventually develop a leader and develop into a full sized, pyramidal tree. Has a broad upright growth habit & reaches roughly 15’ tall by 12’ wide, growing 12” or more a year.
